You can click the printer icon in the upper right and print this tutorial to keep handy if you like. After you login you'll see two new menus:
My FitLedger with "View FitLedger", "My Preferences", and "Add Entry" and User Menu with "FitLedger Member List" and "FitLedger Member Details".
The My FitLedger Menu is where you setup your display preferences, add workouts and view your FitLedger. View FitLedger - Shows a monthly calendar with all your workouts for the month. Click any of the workouts displayed for a detailed view of that workout. The Select User pull-down menu at the top allows you to view other users who have made their FitLedgers public or added you to their friends list. The next pull-down menu lets you change from month view to week or day view. The bottom pull-down lets you change to specific days, months or years. Below that you can switch to display a graph of your workouts. Adjust the X and Y axis displays to get various combinations of graphic data.
My Preferences - Choose public or private display of your FitLedger data; Choose weight units in kilograms or pounds; Choose distance units in kilometers, miles, or meters; Choose the default workout category that appears when you add a new entry; Choose who you'll allow to see your FitLedger by clicking your choices in the left column and adding them to the right column; Choose which totals to display at the bottom of your FitLedger. SAVE your preferences at the top by clicking the save icon (diskette). The X icon is used to cancel your data input.
Add Entry - IMPORTANT... FIRST make sure to select the right kind of workout -- swim, bike, run, walk, etc. from the pull-down menu and make sure the date is correct. You can edit workouts later but you can't edit these two items. If you make a mistake with either of these you'll have to delete the workout and start over. Next, enter the details of your workout in the form provided. None of the fields are required but you'll find it's nice to have at least something in all of them when you go back and look at your fitness history. Note that time of day is expressed in 24 hours instead of 12 (aka military time). I'm working on changing that but it is what it is for now. The duration format must be as shown with HMS intact. You don't have to put a value in place of the 0's but you need to keep the letters H,M, and S. That could also get better in the future. Location is where you can describe your route. Make it a brief description or as detailed as you wish. It's nice to keep track of your routes so you can go back to the great ones or compare your performance when you repeat a route. The workout notes section is a good place to record how you felt, who you were with, anything you think contributed to or affected your workout - very helpful later. SAVE your workout by clicking the save icon (diskette) at the top of the page. The X icon is used to cancel your data input.
The User Menu is where you can find other users and create your personal profile with as much or as little information about yourself as you'd like.
FitLedger Member List - This is a listing of all FitLedger members, linked to their personal profiles. Click any member to display their profile. Use the search to find members by user name.
FitLedger Member Details - This is where you create and edit your personal profile. It's also where you can upload an avatar if you want. That's a photo or other image that is displayed beside each of your posts in the forum. If you haven't entered anything in your profile, nothing is displayed when you click User Details. Click Update Your Profile in the upper right and you'll get a set of tabbed forms in which you can tell us all about yourself. There's a place for fitness goals and accomplishments, favorite sports activities, places to do them, and list of your bicycles. There's a place to tell us about your family, occupation, clubs you belong to, and hobbies. Finally there's a place to provide as much or as little contact information as you choose. When you're finished, SAVE your profile. If you need any other help, please select Contact Us in the Main Menu or ask questions in the forum. Look around, try it out, have fun. |
